Mountain Middays - Daily Dose of Weird May 09, 2014- The Most Ironic Prison Assignment Ever

Have you watched Orange is the New Black?

Watch it. It has changed the way I look at jail time. In fact it actually has made me fear going to jail more than I did before I watched the show.

All I could think about while I read this story was a character in the show, Red, and what her response would be to this guy. The culprit in this story is a former New York City Police Officer who is behind bars for allegedly planning to take part in cannibalism in real life online.  I think it is great that he is now working to pursue becoming a chef; but it is so ironic and strange.

Part of me wonders if he maybe should have been a chef instead of a police officer. Maybe all of his alleged cannibalistic online crimes would not have happened if he was pursuing his dream to make people food… phrasing. Maybe he should have always been in the kitchen cooking for people… better?

Urg. Choking on irony.

Mountain Middays - Daily Dose of Weird May 05, 2014- Topless Reading Club Aims To Make Reading Sexy

Let’s get weird and read together… topless. This Daily Dose of Weird talks about a reading club like no other in New York City (where else right?) where members are attempting to “make reading sexy” by reading topless.

Meh. I’ll continue to read with my top on… I’m not even sure how to have gender equality for this; it is just not the same for topless guys. Bottomless reading could be a little more interesting… until 50 Shades of Grey comes up on the reading list.

Viral Video: Peanuts Inspired Flash Mob in NYC

Check out this awesome video from New York City where the team from Mashable put together this
Peanuts style flash-mob. This is the latest video in my collection of viral holiday videos this year. I am not a huge fan of Peanuts, even as a kid I didn't really like Peanuts but the theme song takes me back to getting ready every morning for school and listening to the radio (hoping that school would be cancelled).

Thank you Mashable for your dose of Christmas Cheer!
