The Goat's Daily Dose of Weird: June 23, 2014- Exchange Student Gets Stuck In A Vagina Sculpture

Today's Daily Dose of Weird mixes awkward early adulthood with awkward artwork.

Yes, I said it. Climbing into a vagina statue for a weird rebirth selfie is a strange thing to do. With that being said I am guessing my first reaction to a 32-ton giant vagina sculpture would most likely to be to take a less than refined selfie with it myself. I don't think I would jump in and start a weird Benjamin Button still photo. I'm a lady who does not "scooch" through areas so I doubt I would put myself in this tight situation!

Clearly this sculpture needs to be housed at a European University’s Institute for Microbiology and Virology for good reason, I’m betting European students are much more mature and able handle giant genitalia without snapping photos with it. Specifically this sculpture can be found Tübingen University.

I would be pretty annoyed to be one of the German Firefighters called to the scene. Imagine that phone call.

But, I think this kid has definitely learned a lesson that kids are (hopefully) learning more and more these days: don't take photos of yourself doing stupid things because as funny as they are when things go horribly wrong people will not be laughing with you; they will be laughing at you. I laughed at this kid, I hope you did too. I hope he learned his lesson and that he has prevented heavier students from messing about in the vajayjay in the future!

My Amazing Car Emergency Kit

Grandmothers are just the best.

A couple of weeks ago I received a large pre-Christmas package in the mail from my Grandmother and in it (along with Christmas gifts) there was a full car emergency kit. This is something I have been meaning to put together for a while now and it had completely slipped my mind. My family worries about my drive from Trail to Castlegar every day, actually I think they worry about any driving I do (that is another story for another day… okay stories). So my grandmother put together the most genius little kit just in case I ever am stuck in my car in an emergency situation. It even compliments my low-carb lifestyle.

Here are the contents:
-1 Blanket (not pictured)
-1 Facecloth
-1 Bag of almonds
-2 90% Cocoa chocolate bars (just in case my boyfriend is also trapped, she didn’t want use fighting over just one)
-A box of moist wipes (I hope this is just in case we have ribs in the car with us, not because she thinks we will need them for bodily functions. On that note, she should have included some adult diapers.)
-2 Lighters
-4 Jumbo tea light candles (for warmth and light)
-2 LED flashlights
-1 Par of glove

All I am missing now is a shovel in my car. Hockey sticks work to dig your car out of small mess of snow, but it takes a lot longer.

What is in your winter car emergency kit? Am I missing anything?

Kate’s Favorite Things: Pinch Provisions ‘Minimergency Kit’

I love stockings, growing up we always got four stockings, one on Christmas Eve night when “Santa” would stop by my Grandmother’s house and each of us grandchildren would sit on his lap and be given a large man’s foot worth of candy, underwear, hygiene products and usually one cool thing to put a smile on your face. The next stocking would come Christmas morning after Santa had visited our home, this stocking would be filled with more fun items and candy.  The next stocking would come a little later in the day at our Great Grandparent Kinney’s house, usually these stockings were a little more boring than the first stocking and the only really interesting part would be to see who would get the coolest stocking (they were rotated around for a while until eventually each great-grandchild had a name on their stocking, killing the surprise). The last stocking of the Holidays would come on New Year’s Day with all of the “leftovers” from Santa’s Workshop or maybe some pretty sweet Boxing Day sale deals to ensure everyone ended up with the things they really wanted for Christmas.

Again, I love stockings. I love Christmas. This year I only was on the receiving end of one stocking. I filled a stocking for my boyfriend with all of his favorite things and his parents sent a stocking back from Calgary with him for me.

This was one amazing stocking; my boyfriend’s mother may just be the Queen of Stocking Stuffing. Everything in it was gold, including one of my new favorite things.  The absolutely brilliant Pinch Provisions Minimergency Kit (For Her of course).

Every item, big or small, was wrapped in this stocking so when I got to the ‘Minimergency Kit’ I had to stop and read the entire listing of exactly what it was, pure genius. The ‘Minimergency Kit’ truly is mini, measuring in at 3.5” x 2” x 2” and is home to 17 beauty and personal care items.

Here are just some of the emergency items included in this amazing little bag (pictured to the right):
-Breathe freshener
Picture from http://pinchprovisions.com/
-Floss
-Clothing mending kit (yes, a kit inside a kit)
-Lip balm
-A tampon
-Hair spray
-Clear nail polish

Yes, the Minimergency Kit is a BIG help for those tiny emergencies that seem to ruin everyone’s days. It is a little silly how confident it makes me feel just having it in my purse.

Naturally, loving my Minimergency Kit as much as I do I had to check its mother company our online, Pinch Provisions. They also make emergency kits (in mini and full size) for men, teachers, moms, back to school, hooking your wedding party up before the wedding, brides, grooms and sending your kid off to college (there may even be more).  They even sell refills for your kits too!

I think this is the perfect item to put in a stocking; it is one of my favorite things from this Christmas and an all-round brilliant idea from Pinch Provisions.
